Giving your smile the crowning glory

A dental crown is one of the most commonly used and versatile tooth restorations.

A crown is placed over a single tooth that either has weakened due to root canal therapy, or had suffered severe decay or fracture in an accident. They successfully restore strength and function to your teeth, as well as aesthetically enhance your smile.

Porcelain Crowns – The advantage of all porcelain crowns over metal based crowns is their ability to reflect light like natural tooth enamel. As an added benefit, because there’s no metal substructure, the black line at the gums normally associated with traditional crowns is also eliminated.

At Glebe Dental we utilise state-of-the-art computer technology to fabricate porcelain crowns in our onsite laboratory. They offer a strong restorative solution and have superior aesthetic properties that can transform your smile.

CEREC Crowns – At Glebe Dental we also offer crowns made using CEREC. This advanced technology enables your crown to be created and placed in a single appointment.

One of our dental team will apply a thin layer of reflective powder onto your tooth and use a special 3D imaging camera to take a photo. Using CEREC software and diamond tipped milling burs, your highly detailed restoration is created from a solid cube of ceramic.

Finally, the ceramic restoration is secured to your tooth using a specially formulated dental bonding agent.

CEREC crowns from Glebe Dental are strong, long-lasting and natural-looking.
