Dr Mo Murad
Principal Dentist
Dr Murad graduated with distinction from Otago University in New Zealand and after graduation was selected for the role of Maxillofacial Dental Officer in Auckland hospitals. He worked side-by-side with all maxillofacial dental surgeons and gained extensive experience in oral maxillofacial surgery.
In 2007, Dr Murad obtained his postgraduate degree in oral Implants from Sydney University. He spent time in the United States studying the latest techniques in implant dentistry under the tutelage of leading implant surgeons. Dr Murad was awarded a Fellowship by the International Congress of Oral Implantologists in 2010. He is regarded as one of the leading implant dentists in Sydney and receives many referrals from his colleagues.
Over the last 20 years Dr Murad has placed or restored over 2000 dental implants. He is also a member of many local and international dental organisations and groups, he is a certified dentist for All on 4 implant procedure and he has placed and managed a significant number of these cases. He has been a visiting implant dental surgeon at many dental practices in Sydney and Newcastle.
He is committed to continuous education and training and his passion is oral surgery, cosmetic and implant dentistry. Mo has recently completed further postgraduate studies obtaining a postgraduate diploma in Digital Orthodontics and a Master degree in Laser dentistry utilising Fotona Lightwalker® laser, one of the most advanced laser systems in the world. He is also a Digital Smile Design affiliate.
Mo enjoys spending time with his 3 kids and his beautiful wife. He enjoys playing soccer, watching the Premier League, skiing and cooking. His favourite dessert is kunefe.
Dr Haitham Omar
Specialist Orthodontist
We welcomed Dr Haitham Omar to the team at Glebe Dental Group in 2019 expanding services offered with his specialised skills as a Specialist Orthodontist.
Haitham grew up in Sydney before his parents moved to Egypt for approximately 10 years. On his return he completed high school in the Hills area prior to completing his Bachelor of Dental Surgery with second class honours at the University of Sydney.
Haitham then worked as a private general dentist in the picturesque Glenbrook (Lower Blue Mountains) and at Lansvale for a period of six years. During this time, he married his beautiful wife Salwah. They enjoyed travelling and site seeing before he embarked on further study in the Masters of Dental Science (Orthodontics) at the University of Sydney. They were gifted with their first two children (Shehab and Shada) during the busy three-year course, before graduating in 2005. Two years later they had their third child, Moustafa.
Despite the busy practice and family life, Haitham enjoys playing soccer and an occasional game of tennis. He particularly enjoys the involvement with his children’s sports team activities, whether it be soccer, basketball, cycling, tennis or karate. Haitham loves travelling which he hopes to do more of as the kids continue to grow.
Alex Lee
Dental Hygienist
Alex was born in the Philippines and made Australia his home in 2000. He gained his Dental Hygienist qualification in Australia in 2006.
Alex has worked in the dental industry both overseas and in Australia since 1987. His experience in the dental health industry, coupled with Alex’s empathy with his patients enable him to address their dental hygiene concerns, providing the optimal treatment they deserve.
Alex enjoys meeting people from all walks of life learning from their culture and experiences.
Alex is a very warm and caring person who will keep you amused with his outgoing personality and he enjoys going on long walks, reading and social dancing.
Angelina Martinez
Dental Hygienist
Angie graduated as a Dental Hygienist in 1993 and has since worked in specialist and general practices. She particularly enjoyed working as a part time teacher/tutor at the Sydney Dental Hospital.
Angie is skilled in the prevention, treatment and management of periodontal ‘gum’ disease. She is a qualified and trained whitening expert.
Angie has an eye for aesthetics and detail that allows her to help partner with patients to achieve their ultimate oral health. She is a gentle operator who has a warm and caring manner, topped with a great sense of humour.
Angie lives with her two teenage children and one rescue dog. She has a great passion for food, travel and exploring.
Samantha Smith
Dental Assistant
Sam has been at Glebe Dental Group since 2014. She has worked alongside our dentists, hygienists and Specialist Orthodontist. Having accomplished her Certificate 3 in Dental Assisting her aspirations are now set on further study to become a Dental Hygienist.
In Sam’s spare time, she enjoys going for walks, cross stitching, gardening and spending time with her partner and their cats.
Anna Townsend
Practice Manager
Anna has been welcoming Glebe Dental Group patients to the practice since 2003.
Helping people has always been Anna’s passion working across multiple industries including legal, HR, IT to dental.
Engaging with patients daily, welcoming and ensuring they are comfortable to seeing the smile on their faces makes each day a bonus.
Anna works behind the scenes to ensure the smooth running of the practice.
She enjoys spending time with her family, reading and sailing.
Wendy Gray
Front Office Co-ordinator
Wendy has been one of the faces of our front of house since 2005. She enjoys welcoming our patients to our practice and to see them gain confidence and trust within our team to complete their dental treatment and leave with a smile they have always dreamed of.
In her spare time Wendy enjoys spending quality time with her partner and her 3 dogs and loves to be either in the garden or in the kitchen cooking.
